CES2021 review ① Smartphone

Noting special but rollable smartphone were interesting

While the smartphones specifications have been improved and standardized, the notable ones are Rollable smartphone, Galaxy S21, and Mid/Low-end 5G smartphones.

 

1. Rollable smartphone

TCL/LGE announced prototype  POLED panel based rollable smartphone. It can be differentiated between foldable phones, but production volume in this year will be small(around below 500K)

2. Galaxy S21 series 

Galaxy S21 announced a month earlier than the previous modle.  Btw this new model's some specification(Display) showed down with lowering the price. It seems Samsung  struggling now with thier flagship smartphone price position setting agains Chinese smartphone makers.  

 

3. Mid/Low-end 5G smartphones will be expanded at this year with powerful low price.

TCL succed to make 5G smartphone with highly competitable price from 299€ 

through integration of low bom cost devices(LCD panel, 6GB DRAM, SND690)
